Springfield braces for another wave of spring heat

After a beautiful day today, we’re expecting more of the same, if not even. Temperatures will continue to soar into the 70s as we once again chase record highs this week.

Before we get there, we’ll have to get through tonight. There’s a chance for dense fog early Monday morning, and the National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 9 a.m. Monday.

Once the fog lifts, temperatures will quickly climb into the upper 60s and low 70s with mostly sunny skies and a light breeze out of the south.

Tuesday looks even warmer and likely a couple of degrees higher than Monday. The record high in Springfield, set back in 1911, is 73 degrees. That’s the number we’ll need to hit to tie that more-than-100-year-old record…
