The Carson City Board of Supervisors on Thursday will consider a third justice of the peace position and budget assumptions for the upcoming fiscal year, but first they will decide if public records requests at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Clerk-Recorder’s Office will have new fee schedules.
The meeting starts 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the board room of the community center.
“The Carson City Sheriff’s Office currently provides public records to the community at a significant administrative cost. As the volume and complexity of requests increase, particularly requests for a large volume of records, historical records or body-worn camera footage, it has become increasingly difficult to timely process the requests and has become necessary to implement a formal fee schedule,” a staff report states…
