SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Schenectady City School District has announced the new interim principal of Mont Pleasant Middle School. Mark Brooks will serve in the position for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year, effective immediately.

Brooks reportedly began his career in Schenectady schools over two decades ago, working as a social studies teacher at the high school and, later, as the dean of students at Oneida Middle School. He also has 17 years of administrative leadership experience, most recently serving as a principal in the Schuylerville Central School District.
“As I have progressed throughout my career, there has not been a more rewarding job than working for the Schenectady City School District,” Brooks said. “I am privileged to be back helping to serve the students, staff, and families.”
Brooks will replace Andrew Jablonski, who began serving as interim principal in December, after former principal John DeFazio moved to the Newark Central School District. Jablonski also serves as an assistant principal at the school…
