HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WBRC) – A state lawmaker is pushing for tougher penalties for arson after a fire was set at a Homewood Walmart back in 2025.
Arson is already a felony in Alabama, but a new proposal would elevate certain cases to first-degree arson if someone sets a fire or causes an explosion to help commit theft.
