About 100 people gathered Sunday at the Buffalo Federal Detention Center in Batavia for a prayer vigil and demonstration against immigration enforcement actions.
The demonstration was organized by the GLOW Community Alliance and held an hour before the vigil, which was organized by faith leaders, including Rev. Leah Ntuala of Seneca Falls.
She led a reading of the names of 39 people who organizers say died in ICE custody or at protests. Participants then observed 39 minutes of silence, one minute for each person, before singing “This Little Light of Mine.”…
