SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — The City of Sarasota is about five months into a multi-phase, $30 million project to replace an aging 60-year-old water line underneath U.S. 41.
The city said the necessary improvement work, which began in September, would cause some lane closures along Tamiami Trail.

Those closures have caused some drivers to use alternate routes to avoid the congestion.
