A 23-year-old Newport News woman was arrested after fleeing police following reports of shots fired in Virginia Beach early Friday morning.
Police responded around 1:12 a.m. to a ShotSpotter alert in the 800 block of Hampstead Court. While on scene, officers heard additional gunfire and attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle linked to the incident. The vehicle initially fled but was later located.
