Quadruple the sin tax? Cuyahoga County’s wants to save taxpayers from stadium bailouts

Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne’s proposal to quadruple the sin tax on alcohol and tobacco to fund professional sports stadium repairs is not the best plan for saving taxpayers from the bill, Today in Ohio hosts said Monday.

But with sports team owners blocking the better plan – a tax district Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb has proposed around Progressive Field and Rocket Arena – the sin tax is better than nothing.
