Crowds flood streets as delayed Prattville Mardi Gras Parade delivers unexpected twist

A weather delay couldn’t stall the celebration as the Prattville Mardi Gras Festival and Parade, originally scheduled for Jan. 31, 2026, returned on Valentine’s Day with strong crowds and a noticeably Jeep-heavy procession cruising through downtown. After being rescheduled, the parade still delivered the beads, music, and festive atmosphere residents expect, with decorated Jeeps making up much of the lineup and keeping spectators entertained along the route. Parade officials also announced winners for this year’s entries: Long Lewis earned first place, American Legion Post #122 took second, and River Region Heating and Cooling placed third.
