Kingsessing Morning Gunfire Leaves Two Men Shot, One Fighting For Life

Sunday morning gunfire rattled Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood, leaving two men shot in the street and one of them clinging to life, according to police. Officers said the victims were found on the roadway in the 1200 block of South 53rd Street and rushed to a nearby hospital, where one man was listed in critical condition and the other in stable condition. Officers were called to the block at about 9:29 a.m. and found both men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, NBC10 Philadelphia reported. One victim remained in critical condition as of midday while detectives processed the scene and looked for witnesses, according to the station, which noted the investigation was still in its early stages.

Earlier this year, a 2-year-old boy was injured in a separate shooting on South 51st Street, according to CBS Philadelphia, underscoring the neighborhood’s ongoing struggle with gun violence.
