Deputies shoot man with gun in Vineyard vehicle stop, Sacramento sheriff says

A man was hospitalized Monday night after being shot by two Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies during a vehicle stop in the Vineyard neighborhood of south Sacramento.

The shooting occurred just after 7:30 p.m. along southbound Elk Grove Florin Road at Tiogawoods Drive, just south of Gerber Road, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

“While on patrol, our deputies observed a vehicle involved in an ongoing felony investigation,” said Sgt. Ed Igoe, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office. “The deputies conducted a traffic stop, which led to an officer-involved shooting.”…
