Shia LaBeouf Arrested in New Orleans Following Alleged Altercation
New Orleans, LA – Actor Shia LaBeouf, 39, was arrested in New Orleans early Tuesday morning after allegedly assaulting two men outside a Royal Street business. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) confirmed that LaBeouf is facing two counts of simple battery.
According to NOPD officers, they were called to the 1400 block of Royal Street at approximately 12:45 AM on February 17, 2026, in response to a reported battery. Investigators stated that LaBeouf was reportedly causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive.
Police reports indicate that a staff member attempted to remove LaBeouf from the establishment. Once outside, the actor allegedly struck one of the victims multiple times with closed fists. LaBeouf then reportedly left the immediate area, only to return and continue his aggressive behavior, prompting several individuals to attempt to restrain him.
The NOPD statement further details that LaBeouf was released in the hope he would depart, but he allegedly struck the same victim again in the upper body. He then reportedly assaulted a second individual, punching them in the nose.
LaBeouf was subsequently restrained again and held until officers arrived on the scene. Following the incident, he was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries before being arrested and charged.
The alleged incident occurred amidst Lundi Gras celebrations in New Orleans. Representatives for LaBeouf have been contacted for comment.
