CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Christ Episcopal Church in Cedar Rapids has been generating its own power since installing solar panels in July of 2024. Now almost two years later, church leaders say the results are already making a major impact.
“Over this calendar year from last February, because our utility calendar bill goes from April 1 to March 31, over that year so far we’ve saved $7,219 from what our bill was three years ago before we did this system,” chair of the Christ Episcopal Church solar power committee Rob Hogg said.”
