A man riding a scooter was killed late Monday morning after a collision with a car in the Freret area of Uptown New Orleans, police said. The crash happened around 10:50 a.m. near the intersection of Magnolia and Soniat streets. The rider was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

According to NOLA.com, the New Orleans Police Department said the scooter rider was heading north when he collided with a car that was crossing the intersection of Magnolia and Soniat streets. New Orleans EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he later died, the department said.
