DENVER (KDVR) — A man in Larimer County, Colorado, is still missing after he was last seen nearly a month ago getting into a dumpster and never getting out after authorities searched the landfill and never found him.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office got a report of a missing Loveland man, 57-year-old Carl Smith, on Jan. 17 and found security footage from his last known location, which revealed he got into a dumpster in unincorporated Larimer County and never got out, the sheriff’s office said in a Friday Facebook post.
A little after he got into the dumpster, a garbage truck arrived and emptied the dumpster, then went to the Larimer County landfill and deposited the dumpster’s load.
The sheriff’s office then spent four days searching the landfill with assistance from Emergency Services Phantom Canyon crew, Larimer County Search & Rescue (LCSAR), Larimer County Coroner’s Office, and Solid Waste staff…
