ANN ARBOR, MI – A Milan construction company has repaid more than $150,000 to customers who put down deposits but never saw work materialize.
Hummingbird Construction Company will be forced to dissolve and its owner, Matthew Ashline, barred from operating another construction company, according to a consent judgement issued by Washtenaw County Circuit Court Judge Julia Owdziej on Feb. 9.
Ashline took roughly $187,000 in deposits from five different clients for various construction projects, including roof repairs and building a wheelchair ramp, according to a lawsuit filed by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel in July 2025.
