Miley Cyrus to Don Blonde Wig Once More for “Hannah Montana” 20th Anniversary Special
Get ready to party in the USA… or at least on Disney+! Miley Cyrus is set to celebrate two decades of living “the best of both worlds” with a special televised event marking the 20th anniversary of her iconic Disney Channel series, “Hannah Montana.”
The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” promises a nostalgic journey, filmed live in front of a studio audience. Fans can look forward to “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper interviewing Cyrus about the creation of the beloved fictional pop star and the show’s enduring impact.
Cyrus will delve into her memories from her time on the show, accompanied by never-before-seen archival footage. To truly transport viewers back, former sets from the series, including the Stewart family’s living room and Hannah’s famous closet, are being meticulously rebuilt for the occasion.
“Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am,” Cyrus shared in a press release. “What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.
The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, echoed the sentiment, stating that “Hannah Montana” empowered fans to dream, sing, and embrace their authentic selves. “Partnering with Miley on this special is a dream, and we want it to be a love letter to the fans, who remain as passionate today as they were when the series debuted almost 20 years ago,” Davis said.
Disney+ teased the special on Tuesday with a video featuring a car sporting an “HM 20” license plate pulling into a studio lot, set to the catchy theme song “The Best of Both Worlds.” Cyrus and Cooper collaborated on the announcement, which was captioned, “Going back to where it all began.
