Although lingering icy conditions caused the annual Tyler Jackson Head Memorial 5K on Feb. 7 to be cancelled, that didn’t prevent the local community from supporting the legacy of a Springfield native who passed away at just 20 years old.
That Saturday morning, members of Head’s family were set up at the Robertson County Fairgrounds to accept donations and hand out commemorative T-shirt that participants in the 5K would have received.
According to Head’s mother Gina Head-Hieber, over $5,000 was still raised that day, funds that will go towards a scholarship at Austin Peay State University and research for Crohn’s disease and colitis…
