In the early morning hours just before the sun rose over Harrison Township, gunshots rang out, disrupting the quiet of the 5700 block of Willow Walk. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Dayton Ohio took to social media, reporting that at 5:53 a.m., their deputies, along with local crews, were summoned to the scene. The post revealed a disturbance born out of a domestic argument turned violent, spiraling into gunfire.
Deputies interacting with one of the residents learned that what began as a verbal disagreement over a social media account between the man and his girlfriend quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Arriving to assist, additional family members who were to take the female from the residence found themselves embroiled in a second altercation. It was during this confrontation that the Sheriff’s Office described shots being fired as the family members fled, and a vehicle was hit by the stray bullets.
