EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted the entire Tri-State for a level 2/5 risk for damaging winds and tornadoes on Thursday afternoon and evening. A strong cold front will kick up gusty southerly winds on Thursday morning ahead of the storms. Wind gusts of 30mph and higher will be possible. Gulf moisture will stream in and set the stage for storms late Thursday afternoon and evening. Tree damage and power outages will be the main concerns, and your afternoon commute may be disrupted by severe weather.
Near-record high temps in the low 70s are on the way for Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday’s record high is 73 and Thursday’s is 74 set in 2018.
