Indiana DNR asking for help stopping spotted lanternfly invasion before they hatch for the year

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is asking for residents’ help in curbing the number of spotted lanternflies before the insects hatch this year.

Spotted lanternflies have been seen in several counties in Northeast Indiana, with Huntington County reporting the most in one area across the state.

The insects are currently “wintering” as eggs, which Vince Burkle with the Department of Natural Resources says is the best time to remove them…
