Former Morgan Co. jailer faces felony charges over honey buns, claims retaliation

MORGAN CO., Ala. (WAFF) – A former Morgan County jail officer is facing seven felony extortion charges related to taking honey buns from inmates, charges he says are retaliation.

Jarvis Moore, who worked at the Morgan County jail for 24 years, turned himself in on Friday on the felony charges. Moore says he is diabetic and doesn’t eat honey buns, calling the charges deeper than the 200-calorie snacks.

“I just want the people to know that I didn’t do this. And it is killing me to be plastered all over the world that I am this and I’m that and I am not that,” Moore said…
