MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A man is facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly assaulted a victim to the point they required surgery due to a brain bleed and a fractured skull, the Myrtle Beach Police Department said.
Philip Anthony Matthews, 51, is being held on a $100,464 bond in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. He is also facing a loitering charge in addition to the attempted murder charge, which is included in his total bond amount.
According to an arrest warrant, police responded Friday to Dunbar Street, where a witness said that Matthews and the victim were in an argument about “narcotic usage inside the incident location.”…
