Classical Music With a Twist: Camerata Pacifica set to perform across four Southern California venues

Camerata Pacifica, one of the country’s leading chamber groups, will bring a wind-focused classical music program to four Southern California venues this March, including stops in Los Angeles, Thousand Oaks, San Marino and Santa Barbara.

The Santa Barbara-based chamber group will premiere “Natural Light,” a piece written for Camerata Pacifica’s wind quintet, by composer David Bruce, who will be joining the musicians on stage to play a Thai button gong alongside them.

“There are a lot of great groups that present classical music concerts with great string players … but it’s much more rare and harder to find really great wind playing,” Adrian Spence, founder and artistic director of Camerata Pacifica, said. “That’s one of the signatures of Camerata Pacifica, our wind musicians.”…
