BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has changed some of its policies after a deadly 2025 crash involving a deputy killed a Leland woman.
Sheriff Brian Chism confirmed at a recent candidate forum that the agency made policy changes after the Feb. 18, 2025 crash on U.S. 17 in Leland that killed Cora Cartrette.
