Godolphin’s reigning Horse of the Year Sovereignty returned to the work tab Sunday morning, breezing three furlongs at trainer Bill Mott’s winter base at Payson Park Training Center in Indiantown, Fla.
The Into Mischief colt was caught in :37.40 for the distance in his first timed workout since he was scratched from the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) four days before the Nov. 1 race at Del Mar after spiking a fever.
“He was kind of bucking a little bit yesterday, he’s usually pretty quiet going up to the track. It looked like he was going good, so I said let’s get started here,” Mott told Daily Racing Form when asked about the workout…
