Food Network star Chef Niema DiGrazia to appear in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Food lovers in Baton Rouge will soon have the chance to dine with a celebrity chef.

Chef Niema DiGrazia, the executive chef at Abby Singer’s Bistro in Shreveport, will host a special three-day culinary event at L’Auberge Baton Rouge in early March. She is also a winner of “Beat Bobby Flay.”

DiGrazia, who is originally from Sierra Leone, West Africa, gained national attention after defeating Bobby Flay with her signature dish, maafe. This is a classic West African peanut stew from Season 38, Episode 9 of the Food Network competition, which aired in May 2025. The casino said she is famous for her “Afro-Fusion” cooking. It mixes West African, Caribbean, and Southern flavors.
