Nebraska disability assessment changes leave hundreds facing funding cuts

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Hundreds of people with developmental disabilities in Nebraska have been told they are dropping at least one level under a new state assessment system, a change that could cost them and their caregivers thousands of dollars.

The assessment, called InterRAI, is a standardized tool used by the state to determine funding tiers that dictate how much support someone receives.
