Amilinda is adding a new ritual to the week, and it’s worth carving out a bit of time for.
Beginning Feb. 19, the Downtown restaurant will debut Portuguese Sandwich Hour, a Thursday evening offering inspired by the casual taverns (tascas) that chef-owner Gregory León and his team experienced during their time in Lisbon, Portugal.
“The Bifana and the Prego are sandwiches that we ate at various times while we were in Portugal,” says León. “I had various versions of the Prego while I was there, including at a soccer game we attended. Part of the goal is to bring back those experiences and to imitate Portugal’s Tasca culture.”…
