Merci Jones has been in the works for at least two years, with the San Antonio cocktail bar first landing on MySA’s radar in the summer of 2024. In the time since, the business has been inching towards opening at its home on the corner of Broadway and Jones Avenue, and now, Merci Jones is ready to say bonjour to customers.
Just in time for Fat Tuesday, Merci Jones finally opened to the public at noon today, Tuesday, February 17. The launch date coincides with a day-long block party that taps in other food and drink businesses at 1101 Broadway, including NOLA and Hot Joy, according to an event flyer. The block party will have live music, food and drink specials and pop-ups from Cullum’s Attaboy, Beacon Hill Market & Deli, Little Death, Petit Coquin and Reese Bros Barbecue.
Merci Jones’ general manager, Steven Santillan, confirmed the bar’s opening to MySA. He went on to say that the bar will feature a variety of drink offerings, including those for non-drinkers…
