Cardona’s Market unveils specialty sandwich for Lent

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Cardona’s Market has unveiled a new sandwich creation in celebration of Lent. The “COD-Father” will be available starting on Ash Wednesday, February 18.

The sandwich features a fresh, fried cod filet topped with fresh coleslaw, pickle chips, mayonnaise and a house-made citrus vinaigrette — all sitting on a grilled brioche bun. Guests will be able to order the “COD-Father” at any of Cardona’s three locations through Holy Thursday on April 2.

A portion of the proceeds made from sales of the “COD-Father” will go toward Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany. The organization reportedly helps an estimated 80,000 people each year across 14 counties, with services for food, clothing, shelter and supporting vulnerable communities.
