Atlanta Police say their quick actions saved 9-year-old shot in drive-by shooting

ATLANTA — A child is in stable condition after being shot, thanks to the quick actions of officers with the Atlanta Police Department.

Early in the morning on Feb. 8, Zone 3 officers responded to the 100 block of Ruzelle Street after receiving reports of a child shot. When they arrived and entered the home, they found a 9-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police say the wound was severe and bleeding heavily. The child was alert, breathing, and conscious, but began slipping in and out of consciousness…
