HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Two STEM programs in Christian County were awarded a significant amount of grant funding to forward enhanced, hands-on learning for local students.
CCPS says the robotics program at Gateway Academy to Innovation & Technology and Ms. Lassiter’s fourth grade science classes at Millbrooke Elementary were each presented with $5,000 checks from the Tennessee Valley Authority. The grant program awarded a total of $1.5 million to 342 applicants across seven states this school year.
TTV encourages classroom and teachers to invest in STEM technology like coding, 3D printing and drones. According to TVA website, nearly $8 million have been awarded since 2018, supporting more than 730,000 students.
