GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The man accused of firing a gun in the Oaks Mall on Valentine’s Day was arrested for illegally possessing a gun. Authorities have released 911 calls and body camera video related to the incident.
According to the arrest report for Elijah Williams, 19, he was at Kay Jewelers inside the mall just before 5 p.m. with a woman trying to get a ring resized.
Investigators say three men followed the couple into the store while shouting at them. The argument turned physical, and Williams pulled out a concealed handgun.
He fired one shot, which shattered the glass of a jewelry case. The attackers ran away. No one was wounded…
