A Sellersburg man has been charged with impersonating an Indiana State Police detective.
The investigation began in late January 2026, when Salem Police Chief Eric Mills informed Detective Travis Baker of the Indiana State Police about a suspicious phone call received by a Salem Police Department dispatcher.
During the investigation, Detective Baker learned that an individual had called the Salem Police Department identifying himself as Detective Matthew Busick of the Indiana State Police. Detective Busick, who live in Scot County, is currently assigned to cold case investigations with the Indiana State Police.
