Fish stocking opens year-round doors for Tennessee fishermen

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – For the last 25 years, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has been allowing anglers to keep fishing during the winter months.

The TWRA began stocking rainbow trout in local waterways in 2000 to provide year-round fishing opportunities. The trout love the cold water and thrive until the summer months.

“This spot is fantastic,” admits one fisherman. “Everyone’s catching fish. There are no bad vibes. Everyone’s really happy to be here.”…
