Deputies placed on leave after shooting suspect in South Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — Deputies shot and wounded a man during a traffic stop on Monday night in South Sacramento after identifying a vehicle that was believed to be connected to a shooting incident.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, deputies saw the suspect vehicle around 7:30 p.m. traveling southbound on Elk Grove Florin Road.

The sheriff’s office said deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Tiogawoods Drive and Elk Grove Florin Road when an officer-involved shooting occurred. Both deputies fired their weapons, discharging a total of five rounds…
