Pedestrian crash in Sonoma kills woman, critically injures another

(KRON) — Two out-of-state visitors in Sonoma were walking across Broadway, one block south of the Plaza, when they were struck by a vehicle Tuesday night, according to the Sonoma Police Department. One of the two elderly women was killed in the collision, and the other remains in critical but stable condition.

Emergency personnel from the police department, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and Sonoma Valley Fire Department responded at 6:56 p.m. to the 600 block of Broadway on the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Responders found a 73-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries and a 74-year-old woman who was seriously injured.

EMS provided life-saving measures on the 73-year-old woman before she was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her identity was not immediately available.
