Jasper County approves sand mine development, council says ‘sand, dirt is necessary in a community’

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — A controversial sand mine development was back in front of Jasper County officials Tuesday night. This time, with a final decision having to be made.

In a third and final reading, the Jasper County Council discussed approving the developer, J. Heirs, development agreement and zoning change request, which would officially move the project forward.
