Despite strong opposition from neighbors, city council last week OK’d a proposal to add four housing units to an already-approved subdivision in northern Newark.
Landowner Max Walton said the expansion is needed to make the project financially feasible after inflation caused the price of construction materials to skyrocket.
The project is planned for a 4.5-acre site on Possum Hollow Road, just off Possum Park Road. The subdivision will replace three old houses, two of which have already been demolished…
