AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Historic Route 66 is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026, and The Big Texan Steak Ranch is gearing up to celebrate the legendary “Mother Road.” While events honoring the centennial celebration are set to run throughout the country, Amarillo’s Texas Route 66 Festival will begin on June 4.
Bobby Lee, co-owner of The Big Texan, joined KAMR Local 4 News’ Andy Justus for the latest episode of “Let’s Talk About It.” Lee spoke about the history of Route 66 and how it ties into their family businesses. Tom Money, Big Texan Brew Master, also joined the conversation to share what he’s brewing up for the big celebration.
