Belvidere High School administrators announced disciplinary consequences today for students who participated in a walkout protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement last Thursday.
Principal William Lewis informed students of the decision during morning announcements with a video following a letter sent to parents over the weekend.
Students involved in the demonstration will lose “good standing points,” a system that controls whether students can participate in extracurricular privileges such as attending athletic games or prom.
