Rhett Riviere pleads guilty to Voyeurism charges connected to Aiken rental properties he owned

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – An Aiken County man has pled guilty for multiple instances of having secret video recordings of people that stayed at properties he owned, some used as rental homes.

Multiple recordings of people staying at rental properties owned by Aiken County resident and businessman Rhett Riviere were found dating from the years 2001 and 2019. Following a state investigation into the recordings, Riviere pled guilty to three charges of 1st Offense Voyeurism, Violating Place of Privacy, Views, Photographs, Records or Films.

Riviere, now in his early 70s, was sentenced. According to Solicitor Bill Weeks with the 2nd SC Judicial Circuit for Aiken, Riviere was given a three years in prison followed by three-years probation…
