BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) β A man accused of pulling a knife on someone sitting in a broken-down vehicle and assaulting him over money was found guilty on Tuesday, announced the Kern County District Attorney. Daniel Parks faces up to four years in prison.
Parks was convicted on Feb. 17 of assault with a deadly weapon, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, and petty theft.
The incident happened on October 12, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., when the victim was sitting in his disabled vehicle, awaiting assistance. Parks approached the vehicle and entered through the rear driverβs side door, then took money from the victim, exited and lingered outside while asking for more cash.
When the victim refused, Parks pulled out a knife, reached inside the vehicle and began assaulting the victim with the knife. After a struggle, the victim was able to escape the attack. Parks then retrieved additional money and fled on foot…
