Central Alabama Water fires head of employee association

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The leader of the employee association at Central Alabama Water (CAW) has been fired by the utility, according to multiple sources.

Sources tell WBRC Aji King’s employment was terminated earlier this week, days after the deadline for CAW employees to acknowledge a new employee handbook that changed the procedure for appealing such a firing, and effectively removed the employee association’s advisory role in those appeals.

WBRC sources say King’s termination was considered for cause and connected to communication with other CAW employees.
