Suspect dies after deputies attempt to serve warrant in Christian County

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man who was being pursued by Christian County Sherrif’s deputies died Tuesday night after a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On Feb. 17 at approximately 5:47 p.m., CCSO deputies responded to the 12000 block of Antioch Road to serve an active arrest warrant for 40-year-old Christopher Oxendine. The warrant was issued for probation violation for a felony offense. A news release says that while deputies attempted to locate the suspect, he sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was transported to Jennie Stuart Medial Center for treatment of his injuries. Sara Morris with CCSO confirmed that the suspect succumbed to his injuries later that night and died as a result…
