KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Each year, the city’s administration spends millions of dollars on road resurfacing throughout Knoxville. On Tuesday night, the city council approved spending $5 million to start resurfacing projects this year.
The city’s Engineering Director, Tom Clabo, said each year funding is usually around $10 to $11 million, or equal to around 34 miles of paving.
Phase 1 of the 2026 resurfacing plan will complete 17 miles through the South, West and East Knoxville districts. Phase 2 will be bid out in the Spring and will cover the remaining parts of the city…
