According to a complaint filed in civil court on Feb. 13, attorneys for the alleged rape victim, named Jane Doe, claimed UK failed to enforce safety regulations set forth by Title IX by failing to protect students after “repeated incidents of sexual assault and rape” throughout campus dorms.

The lawsuit alleges that on Feb. 18, 2025, Doe was at Addison Adkins’s dorm room in Ball Hall, a dorm building in which they both resided. While in the room together, a complaint claimed that Adkins supplied the pair with alcohol, which is strictly prohibited in campus dorms.
