Marietta woman charged after DUI crash leaves two injured, police say

Hillary Elizabeth Handy, 20, of Marietta, is accused of driving a blue Toyota Rav4 while under the influence of alcohol on Feb. 2 at 11:23 p.m. at 3182 Hickory Grove Road in Acworth, according to an arrest warrant from the Acworth Police Department.

Handy lost control and crashed head on into another vehicle. The other vehicle’s driver had to be extricated and was not able to stand or walk on his left ankle. The man’s passenger lost consciousness in the crash, according to the warrant.

Police said Handy had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her breath along with blood shot, watery eyes and slurred speech. She admitted to consuming two vodka drinks at an office party. Results from the Intox 9000 came back at .219 breath alcohol concentration, according to the warrant…
