An incident that multiple readers described as a police pursuit ended in a rollover crash near the Route 1 northbound off-ramp at the Christiana Mall on Wednesday morning at approximately 11:30 a.m.
According to initial reports from the scene, the pursuit came to a stop when the fleeing vehicle struck another vehicle and a guardrail along the ramp. As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles overturned, though it was not immediately clear which vehicle rolled over.
Witnesses reported that the driver of the fleeing vehicle exited after the crash and ran into a wooded area nearby. Law enforcement officers quickly established a perimeter and began searching the surrounding area.
